Executive Committee

Overview

The Executive Committee shall have authority over the affairs of WSU ACADA between its meetings, shall represent WSU ACADA to the University, shall make recommendations to the Association, shall perform duties as stated in the by-laws, and shall act as directed by the Association. The current council members’ terms run from July 1st, 2025, through June 30th, 2026. View officer definitions .

Officer Definitions


President The president shall preside at all Association and Executive Committee meetings. The president is responsible for overseeing all of the Association’s activities. The president may call special meetings of the Executive Committee and serves as an ex officio member of all standing and ad hoc committees. The president may appoint ad hoc committees as needed. The outgoing president will serve as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee and be available for consultation upon request. Past President The immediate past president shall serve on the executive committee for two years. Vice President and President Elect The vice president shall perform the duties and responsibilities of the president in his or her absence and when so acting shall exercise the powers of the president. The vice president shall assume the role of president at the end of two years as vice president. The vice president shall also perform the duties of WSU ACADA historian. Secretary The secretary shall keep records of all meetings of the Association and the Executive Committee and shall give notice of special meetings to all members. The secretary shall also maintain the WSU ACADA listserv and SharePoint site. Archived records of the association shall be stored in the Center for Advising and Career Development at Lighty 180. Treasurer The treasurer shall have custody of all Association funds and shall maintain such deposits in a federally insured depository institution approved by the Executive Committee. The Treasurer shall also maintain a register accounting for all receipts and disbursements. The treasurer shall present the books to the executive committee for audit on an annual basis. The fiscal year will be from July 1 – June 30. The treasurer will also serve as membership coordinator.
